BLOOMFIELD, CONN., May 13, 2024 – Dog Star Rescue, the largest nonprofit dog rescue in Connecticut, will host its fourth annual charity golf tournament on July 19 at Tunxis Country Club in Farmington. All net proceeds from the event will support the nonprofit’s mission of placing stray and abandoned dogs into caring, lifelong homes.

“We are a completely volunteer-run nonprofit, meaning all funds go directly toward helping dogs in need,” said Amanda Ominsky, Fundraising Director, at Dog Star Rescue. “We bring in an more than 850 dogs each year, and it’s only through our incredibly generous sponsors, partners and supporters that we are able to continue rescuing, fostering and finding forever homes for dogs of all ages and breeds.”

The annual golf tournament is one of Dog Star Rescue’s signature fundraising events and has generated more than $80,000 since 2020.

Ticket packages start at $200 and include 18 holes of golf, a cart, driving range access, continental breakfast, BBQ during play, beer on course and a seated prime rib buffet awards luncheon. Distinguished from typical golf tournaments, our golf outing stands out with the delightful inclusion of Dogs on Course! These furry companions accompany golfers throughout their round, providing a unique service by delivering beer, water, and snacks, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all participants. Ferry Law is serving as the event sponsor, and a range of additional sponsorship opportunities are still available.

More information about the event, including how to purchase ticket and sponsorship packages, can be found here.
