We have keys. We have our Certificate of Occupancy. And we are almost ready to welcome you to our new home.
After months of planning, fundraising, construction, painting, building, cleaning, organizing and more than a few very long days, Dog Star Rescue’s new headquarters is officially almost complete! We are incredibly excited to share that we have obtained our Certificate of Occupancy, bringing us one enormous step closer to opening the doors of our new home at 20 Northwood Drive in Bloomfield.
What started as a vision for a permanent home for Dog Star Rescue has become something so much bigger than a building. It is a place designed to help us save more lives, support more families, strengthen our community and give the dogs in our care the resources they deserve. And we could not have done it without our incredible community.
Built by a Community That Believes in Rescue
One of the most special parts of this entire project has been watching our volunteers, supporters and community partners come together to make this building what it is today.
- Our volunteers have spent countless hours painting, cleaning, organizing, moving, building, repairing and doing whatever needed to be done. An Incredible Gift for Our Medical Facility
We also want to extend a very special thank you to Tito’s Handmade Vodka for an incredible donation supporting our medical facility and the medical needs of the dogs we rescue.
Medical care is one of the most significant expenses facing animal rescue, and having a dedicated, better equipped medical space will make an enormous difference in our ability to care for dogs who arrive needing everything from routine veterinary care to extensive medical treatment. Their generosity is helping us build more than a facility. It is helping us build a place where dogs can receive the care they need to get healthy, heal and move on to their forever homes. We are incredibly grateful.
There Is Still Work to Do
While we have reached this incredible milestone, we are not quite finished yet! There are still some final finishing touches, organizing and details to complete before the building is truly ready for its next chapter, but we can finally see the finish line. And that makes us incredibly excited for what comes next.
