What a better way to kick off the summer than with your furry friend at Dog Star’s new Star Yard? After months of hard work, Dog Star Rescue has teamed with Thomas Hooker Brewery to offer a new facility to allow dogs to burn off some extra energy while the grown ups enjoy some adult beverages. The new space will have a grand opening on Saturday July 25th.

Space to Run and Play

The new 2,500 square foot, fenced-in play space located at 12 Tobey Road in Bloomfield gives plenty of room for dogs to run around off-leash safely, and includes some dog agility toys, a doggie pool and of course plenty of water. The area also has nighttime lighting. On days where the Star Yard is open, there will also be indoor grooming station access as well as a smaller and senior dog area. The indoor area will have the normal COVID-19 safety rules in place.

Grand Opening: Saturday July 25

  • Our grand opening will include 2 sessions: 5-6pm and 6:30-7:30pm.
  • Tickets are available on Eventbrite and space will be limited so purchasing tickets in advance is highly suggested. Buy tickets online: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/star-yard-opening-night-tickets-112884731270
  • Tickets will be $10 each. There are no multi-dog discounts available since this is a fundraising effort. All proceeds will benefit Dog Star Rescue.
  • Hooker Brewery is offering a complimentary beer to anyone who shows their Star Yard Eventbrite receipt from that day’s play session. A Hooker Brewery/Dog Star glass will also be yours to cherish.
  • Dog owners will be required to sign an online waiver and be with their dog at all times (this is not a doggie daycare).
  • After our grand opening, we will then have regular days and hours posted on our website.
