Dog Star Rescue Has a New Home
February 2, 2025JANUARY 18, 2025 BLOOMFIELD, CT – Two puppies adopted from Dog Star Rescue last fall will be playing in this year’s Animal Planet Puppy Bowl on February 9, starting at 2 p.m. ET.
Linen and Suds, part of Dog Star’s “Laundry Litter” brought up to Connecticut from a southern shelter through the volunteer efforts of Dog Star Rescue. This litter was found on the side of the road by a good samaritan, and brought to a local shelter. That shelter partners with Dog Star Rescue, who sends dogs up to Connecticut, where they have a better chance of being adopted.
“We have had dogs in the Puppy Bowl every year for over a decade, and are always so honored when our adorable pups are chosen,” says Nichole Fortenbaugh, Executive Director of Dog Star Rescue. “We believe that every single Dog Star is lucky and special, and now the whole world will see how one act of kindness by a good samaritan has transformed lives. It’s because of our generous donors and dedicated volunteers that we were able to bring these dogs to Connecticut, safe and healthy, and be a part of this exciting event.”
Dog Star Rescue will be hosting a Puppy Bowl viewing party from 12-3 p.m. at their headquarters at 12 Tobey Road in Bloomfield, CT. For $25 per family, ticket holders let their dogs socialize in the play yard, and meet the fellow alumni and dog lovers.
