You can meet most of our adoptable dogs at our weekly adoption events. We always have a Saturday adoption event and some weeks have events on other days too. Please apply before you come to an event.
Other events
Team Dog Star Dog Walking Club (Sundays): Meet fellow alum and dog lovers and walk your dog with us every other Sunday. Visit this link for the next date and location, and sign up.
Unleashing the Stars Gala (April 18, 2026 – 6pm): This formal Gala will take place at The Delamar Hotel in West Hartford, CT and will feature a cocktail hour, seated dinner, an auction and more. Visit the Gala page to learn more and buy tickets.
Low Cost Vaccine Clinic (Sunday May 2 – 9am-3:30pm): As part of our community support initiative, Dog Star is hosting another low-cost vaccine clinic for dogs. For just $35, we will do a physical exam, provide core vaccines, provide a rabies tag and certificate, do a nail trim and ear cleaning, microchip (if dog doesn’t have one) and provide a 4DX test if needed for an additional cost. Comedy Night (Friday May 15 – 7pm): Paws for laughter! Buy tickets for $30 for our annual Comedy Night at J Under the Dome (formerly Hooker Live) in Hartford. Food will be available for purchase starting at 6pm. Buy tickets.
Candle Making Workshop (Thursday May 21, 2026): Make homemade candles with Summit Scent Company and support our rescue. Buy tickets.
Pups & Pours Block Party (Saturday June 6, 2026): Rescheduled from 2025, this event will feature dozens of your favorite local distilleries, wineries and breweries, live music, puppy cuddling, a kid zone, vendors and more. Visit the Pups & Pours page to learn more and buy tickets.
Golf Tournament (Friday July 17, 2026): Our popular Golf Tournament is back and bigger than ever. Enjoy 18 rounds of golf at Tunxis Country Club in Farmington, food, raffles, and more – all for a great cause. More info. Tickets go on sale soon.
