Dog Star Rescue’s success truly depends on the efforts of our many volunteers. Without volunteers, we simply could not rescue homeless and abandoned dogs in the South that are placed in high-kill shelters or take in dogs that are local owner-surrenders. Every member of our volunteer roster helps us rescue dogs and place them in new, loving homes, and together, our volunteers are what make Dog Star successful and amazing.
There are many ways that you can volunteer with Dog Star Rescue, each offering more rewards than you could even imagine – not to mention unlimited dog kisses and snuggles.
Dog Fostering
Foster parents are a critical part of our program at Dog Star Rescue. We rely on foster families to provide dogs a home before they get adopted, and fostering allows us to keep our adoption fees lower. As a dog foster parent, you help us offer the dogs a second chance at finding their forever family.
Other Opportunities
If you can’t foster but still want to be involved, we have so many other volunteer opportunities including dog handling at our events, transporting dogs, evaluating potential adopter families, publicity/marketing, fundraising and other administrative tasks.
