Dog Star Rescue to Unveil Mobile Veterinary Service at Pet Wellness Clinic

BLOOMFIELD, CT 4/5/2022 – Dog Star Rescue and Veterinary Care Everywhere is unveiling a new mobile veterinary van on May 21 from 12-2 pm at Dog Star’s Bloomfield, CT headquarters (12 Tobey Road), offering wellness for veterans (60+), seniors (70+), and those who are physically disabled. Dogs and cats of all ages are welcome to come receive a wellness check as well as rabies vaccinations, core vaccinations, basic deworming and heartworm testing.

“In partnership with Veterinary Care Everywhere, we will be unveiling the new mobile veterinary vehicle designed to service those who aren’t able to easily get to the vet – specifically seniors (70+), physically disabled persons and veterans (60+). By bringing home visit veterinary care to their door, this should help keep local pets healthy, which benefits the entire community,” shares Dan McCabe, President of Dog Star Rescue.

The cost for the clinic is $60 per pet for qualified veterans, seniors and the physically disabled, and $100 for others. Funds will go directly to support Veterinary Care Everywhere to assist veteran, senior and disabled pet owners. Registration is required in advance, and can be done through Dog Star Rescue’s website or Facebook page.

“We have never seen a service like this in Connecticut before and we are very proud to partner with a fellow volunteer organization that strives to do good for companion animals,” McCabe adds.

In support of this initiative, Bikers Against Animal Cruelty (BAAC) will be stopping by to support our shared mission of supporting animal wellness.
